sepulchra
I don't know if this is a setting but I often create keywords that begin with "." so i don't have conflicts. For example ".inv" takes me to a folder path where I store invoices. I've recently noticed that when I type keywords that begin with "." I also am shown the option to open the typed url. Is there a way to not display that result when using "." in the beginning of my keyword triggers? Link to comment
Stephen_C
Sorry this is not an direct reply to your question but the way in which I store my favourite folders is to use a List Filter triggered by a keyword (gf in my case for "go to folder”). Of course, whether or not that idea is actually helpful rather depends on how many folders you need to cover. 😀 Stephen Link to comment
sepulchra
thanks @Stephen_C this is helpful. I do still wonder why using a "." to begin a keyword triggers the URL fallback. I suspect it is because urls end with .com or dot something. Link to comment
Stephen_C
I shouldn't stick out my neck on this because when I do I'm invariably wrong. However, try going to Alfred → Preferences → Web Search and un-checking Recognise URLs… and see if that helps. It seems to work for me. Stephen Link to comment
sepulchra
that works but i also had "Treat URL schemes without // as URLs" unchecked -- and i thought that would have also solved it but did not Link to comment
