vitor Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Usage Copy the URL to a specific text section of a webpage by triggering the Universal Action or Hotkey with text selected on a website. The resulting URL automatically scrolls to frame the text and highlights it. Rerunning on a different selection adds the new text to the previous fragments, allowing for multiple disconnected highlights. Running the Universal Action with ⌘↩ removes all other selections. ⤓ Install on the Alfred Gallery | Source giovanni and pseudometa 2
vitor Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 Note that text fragments are a feature which may not work on all web browsers, such as Firefox and Brave, or on all web pages. For best results, avoid highlighting partial words. When reporting issues, please include your exact installed versions of:The Workflow.Alfred.macOS.In addition to:The debugger output. outlander Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) Wow that's very cool! I didn't even know such functionality existed! I playing around with it, and when using via keyword, on some websites it keeps appending new stuff instead of resetting. For example, in this forum selecting text and <hotkey> creates a new link each time. But on this website it keeps repeating the original one. Does that depend on the website itself? I am using Safari browser. Alfred 5.5 [2257] macOS Sonoma 14.7 (23H124) In the example below first I select "Control Windows", which works well, and second time I select "You don’t actually need to use Cmd + F to start a search - simply start typing and the search box will appear.", but it still shows "Control Windows". vitor Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 I can’t reproduce the behaviour you’re describing at all, on that same website, with the same browser, with the same text selected. You are, however, not on the latest version of Alfred, nor macOS, and perhaps not of Automation Tasks.
outlander Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Well I can't update my MacOs since it's company policy, but I just updated Alfred. Perhaps I am simply misunderstanding this. When it's amended URL, all items are highlighted but only first one is shown when accessing page I pressume. In my case seems like sometimes it replaces and sometimes it amends. When does your workflow decide when to amend or when to replace when using hotkey? I can only see 'replace_previous' being set when doing universal action, but probably I am overlooking it 😅
vitor Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 Updated to 2024.3. When appending, remove all fragments before attempting to add text fragments.
