batmadam
Hello, I have been using Dashlane exclusively for several years now and I found this workflow. Since it is not in the Alfred gallery, I wanted to get your opinion on its reliability concerning data security/privacy and if you have any feedback. The creator said explicitly that it does not upload or download any data, but I don't know... Thank you! https://github.com/BenjaminOddou/alfred-dashlane Link to comment
vitor
Welcome @batmadam, 17 hours ago, batmadam said: Since it is not in the Alfred gallery The reason for that is the workflow depends on the official command-line tool from Dashlane, which is not signed and notarised. Which is bizarre, since they have apps in the App Store, meaning they could do it easily. Yet they even suggest bypassing macOS security features (under “Packaged Executables”) to install the command-line tool. Benjamin, on the other hand, has several other workflows in the Gallery. In other words, the main blocker here is Dashlane the company, not Dashlane the workflow. All that said, I have not personally inspected or tested this workflow, as the command-line was a hard stopper. There could be, say, a bug in some library or something. Unlikely, but the more software layers there are, the more difficult it becomes to consider every case. Benjamin’s own code at the root of the workflow is itself open-source so it can be inspected and looks fine. I understand this doesn‘t fully answer the question, but hopefully the extra context helps in your decision. Link to comment
