Search files by name

Recommended Posts

This workflow is loosely based on my Search files by extension workflow. It allows you to search for names, or part names, of files in a selected folder (and, optionally, its sub-folders).

You may wonder what it adds to the standard Alfred File Search. Sometimes when browsing with Finder you have a rough idea of where a file is and then it's easy and quick to use this Universal Action (searching the results if necessary). However, my principal use for this workflow is to search an occasionally mounted volume the contents of which are not indexed by Spotlight. For that it is fast and effective.

Here are some screenshots (there is a comprehensive ReadMe in the workflow itself):Search.thumb.png.ba6703b7e2df22b7eb95ae854d3626f5.png

What about the icon? Ah, that's explained in the workflow ReadMe. 😉

The workflow has no dependencies.
