exposition
Hi, Can anyone tell me why the first search fails to find the file whereas the second search produces results? Spotlight finds the file for both searches. I have Fuzzy matching enabled. Thanks! Link to comment
Andrew
@exposition the macOS metadata index has a inconsistent relationship with using - separating words when doing a word based search as Alfred does. Spotlight, by default, also searches text content which is why you are finding this file with Spotlight. Alfred separates searching within files to the "in" keyword. If you try your searches again as: in updated training and in training wisdom Alfred will find these files too as your PDFs likely have non-hyphenated text inside matching the search terms. It is possible to create a Workflow File Filter object which searches more traditionally like Spotlight, configuring the object to also search kMDItemTextContent. https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/ Let me know if you need some help with that Cheers, Andrew Link to comment
exposition
Frustratingly, neither in updated training nor in training wisdom are surfacing the pdf. Thanks, I'll have a read of the Workflow File Filter manual and see if that can help. Link to comment
