Malia Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with Alfred where my workflows are not running at all, and nothing appears in the Debugger when I try to execute them. Here's what's happening: - I open Alfred Preferences and select my workflow. - I open the Debugger tab to monitor any output. - When I activate Alfred and type the keyword for my workflow, nothing happens. The workflow doesn't run, and no messages or errors appear in the Debugger. Troubleshooting steps I've already taken: 1. Verified the Workflow Settings: - The workflow is enabled (checkbox is ticked). - The keyword is unique and doesn't conflict with other workflows or system commands. - All elements within the workflow are properly connected. 2. Tested with a Simple Workflow: - Created a new simple workflow (a keyword triggering a notification). - Even this simple workflow doesn't run or produce any output in the Debugger. 3. Checked Alfred's Permissions: - Alfred has been granted all permissions under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy: - Accessibility - Full Disk Access - Files and Folders - However, Alfred does not appear under the Automation tab, and I can't add it manually. 4. Reset Automation Permissions: - Ran tccutil reset AppleEvents in Terminal to reset automation permissions. - After this, tried running the workflow again, but still no prompt to grant automation permissions, and the workflow doesn't run. 5. Reinstalled Alfred: - Exported my settings and workflows. - Deleted Alfred and reinstalled the latest version from the official website. - Imported my settings back, but the issue persists. 6. System Details: - macOS Version: Sonoma - Alfred Version: Alfred 5.5 with Powerpack - Other Notes: - No recent changes to my system before the issue started. - Workflows have not worked at all since installation. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any ideas on how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Stephen I accidentally discovered that the workflow actually runs when I double-press Space + Enter. I'm new to Alfred and workflows, so I'm not sure if this is the intended way to trigger workflows or if there's a setting I need to adjust. Is it normal that I have to press Space + Enter twice to run a workflow after typing the keyword? Is there a way to configure it so that the workflow runs with a single Enter press or with a different key combination?
Stephen_C Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 There are several ways you can trigger a workflow: you can use a Keyword, you can use a Universal Action, you could use a Hotkey Trigger…among others. What will trigger a specific workflow will depend upon what trigger that workflow is programmed to use. You may find this Alfred help page useful: Getting Started with Alfred Workflows. Vero Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 @Malia Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ address and I'll take a look at your current configuration. Please include a link back to this thread so that I can associate your email to the relevant conversation Cheers, Vero Malia 1
