Only pastes most recent clipboard entry

I have a few snippets that are supposed to paste text, simple things like a signature file. Recently, they paste only the most recent text copied to the clipboard.

I went through and deleted all permissions and then re-granted them but it does not seem to have fixed the problem.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks.

To be clear, does the problem apply to all of your snippets or only to some of them? What changes have you made on your Mac since those snippets stopped working? (Have you, for example, installed any new apps that may be monitoring keyboard input in some way?)

There is a useful Alfred help page Snippets and Text Expansion Troubleshooting and if you've not already checked that page it may be worth doing so.

@jeremycherfas As well as checking the things @Stephen_C suggested, could you clarify whether it happens in all apps or only specific ones? My educated guess is that it's only happening in a specific app which is likely slow at responding.

In this case, the answer is usually to slow down key events as per the second tip on the page Stephen provided, which should resolve the issue :)

Many thanks for the suggestions. I can confirm that the problem occurs in all the apps I have tested (Byword, Textedit, BBEdit, mail in a browser)

.

I went through all the suggestions at the page @Stephen_C mentioned including resetting all permissions again and the prolem continues.

I removed all other apps from Accessibility and that did not help.

I'm going to try and restore preferences saved in Time Machine and see whether that helps, but at this point I am not hopeful.

I have also downloaded and installed the workflow to save preferences, in the faint hope that it might be something about synced preferences, and maybe that will help going forward.

Is there any point in deleting Alfred (I have 5.5) and installing everything afresh?

This did not obviously work, but I went through the steps to move the preferences to local storage and get rid of the previous synced location. That did not work at first, but after restarting the machine everything seems to be back to normal. I'm guessing something must have become messed up with the synced preferences. They were in their own Alfred folder in Dropbox, not Dropbox/Apps but I expect that is not entirely immune.

I hope the problem does not recur.

@jeremycherfas It's very unusual for it to happen in all apps, unless your Mac is under unusually heavy load or there's interference from another clipboard-manipulating app. I'd take a careful look at any clipboard apps you might have in your Menu Bar or Activity Monitor.

Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ address, including a reference to this thread, so that I know which conversation your Diagnostics relate to :) I'll take a look and see if I can spot anything.

In the meantime, if you can, please create a temporary new user account on your Mac with nothing running other than Alfred, then try the same snippets in the other profile.
