Globe Key Modifier for Launch App Hotkey?

It looks like I can't use globe key as a modifier when assigning a launch app hotkey. Is that correct? 

 

Also, I want to be sure I'm creating launch app hotkeys correctly.  Per attached screenshot, is this The Way?

I believe that's correct, yes: presumably because that key is used in combination with others for a number of system functions

It looks good to me—subject only to trying to use keyboard combinations that are not otherwise commonly used by individual apps or the OS. (I tend to use ⌃⌥ + a letter, for that reason.)

Thanks. Agreed re: choosing obscure shortcut triggers, but I worked out any conflicts ages ago. I'm going on year 12 with this set with Alfred.

 

BUT.... I just upgraded to a magic keyboard and the globe key is where the control key used to be, so I keep hitting it. First solution would have been to reconfigure Alfred's shortcuts to use Globe in place of Control. If that won't work, guess I'll find a way to map Globe to Control and vice versa.

Yeah, used it for a while to hack caps lock, but it started causing instabilities. I think there are more stable tools now….
