ericschoenfeld38 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 It looks like I can't use globe key as a modifier when assigning a launch app hotkey. Is that correct? Also, I want to be sure I'm creating launch app hotkeys correctly. Per attached screenshot, is this The Way?

I believe that's correct, yes: presumably because that key is used in combination with others for a number of system functions 5 minutes ago, ericschoenfeld38 said: Also, I want to be sure I'm creating launch app hotkeys correctly. (I tend to use ⌃⌥ + a letter, for that reason.) Stephen
ericschoenfeld38 Posted November 10 Author Posted November 10 Thanks. Agreed re: choosing obscure shortcut triggers, but I worked out any conflicts ages ago. I'm going on year 12 with this set with Alfred. BUT.... I just upgraded to a magic keyboard and the globe key is where the control key used to be, so I keep hitting it. First solution would have been to reconfigure Alfred's shortcuts to use Globe in place of Control. If that won't work, guess I'll find a way to map Globe to Control and vice versa.
sepulchra Posted November 10 Posted November 10 @ericschoenfeld38 if you are looking to remap keys Karabiner is a great tool.
