ChatGPT / DALL-E workflows - billing hard limit has been reached

Hi all,

 

I'm a little new to OpenAI so please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

 

I've been trying to use the official ChatGPT / DALL-E workflow for Alfred, but Alfred just spits out a "billing hard limit has been reached" error when in use, which I understand to mean that my OpenAI account doesn't have any remaining credits.

 

Is there any way to use ChatGPT / DALL-E workflows without purchasing OpenAI credits? 

 

If not - why not? I don't quite understand why I can access ChatGPT and DALL-E from a free user account in my web browser and have them generate content, but I have to purchase credits in order to have them generate that same content in the Alfred workflows. 

 

Can someone please explain?
