Oli F Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) From forgetful reminders, to AutoMistake™, Bad Workflows is a collection of tools that make your Mac harder to use. Website: https://olifro.st/bad-workflows Features Copy text, badly: Add a human touch to your copy/paste, with randomly generated errors. Shutdown progress: Opening apps like Zoom or Slack triggers an immediate system shutdown. Focus, briefly: Set a focus timer that lasts seven seconds, before opening web games. Touch grass: Take some time off to experience the outdoors. Display an image of grass you can touch. Unorganise your files: Moves the selected file to a random location on your disk, making it harder to find. Human Stupidity™: Send me an email, and let me be your personal assistant. I’m imprecise, unhelpful, and slow to reply. The worst to-do list: Tasks you enter are deleted, or replaced with aimless pondering, and stargazing activities. AutoMistake™: Replace the selected text to add common typos, like swapping “because” for “becuase” Window Mismanager: Makes windows as small as possible, restricting available information Unmotivational Messages: Displays thoughts and ideas to inspire despair Screaming space key: Make your space key play the famous Wilhelm scream, discouraging work. vitor Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 OK, I haven’t tried these yet but the idea is hilarious. I’ve built simple games for Alfred and other non-productivity or fun workflows but never thought to make something actively inconvenient. Thank you for sharing and the laugh. I have two quick immediate tips, from initial superficial exploring: Instead of a Text Field for the Workflow’s Configuration, use a File Picker. That’s what they’re for, and it auto-expands the ~ when referenced in the workflow. I appreciate that you disconnected the Snippet Trigger from the next object to not be dangerous. That is good, respectful thinking. However, it is not necessary since Snippet Triggers, like Hotkey Triggers, are stripped on import. That is done exactly for the reason you might imagine, to not unexpectedly conflict with something else the user has set up.
