devalias Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I'm not really sure of the conditions surrounding it, but it feels almost arbitrary as to whether the 'Edit Note' will actually save or not. Usually I have to try multiple times, and then eventually one of them seems to actually save. Originally I was wondering if there was some kind of sync issue that was overriding it after I had saved it (as usually I would have made a change just before it), but I'm not sure that's the case, as I just tried again and it didn't save even though I hadn't made any other recent changes. In the following demo video I recorded, the 'Edit Note' saved properly the first time, but that often isn't the case (thanks demo gods..). But you can see the issue when I try and edit the note towards the end: https://imgur.com/a/KQJRoXn This is in Alfred 5.5.1 [2273], but it has been an issue for a probably months if not years at this stage.
devalias Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Further to this, I sometimes also notice that when I am dragging around items on my workflow, sometimes they seem to 'snap back' to an old position.. which I think was another thing making me think this might be related to some kind of sync issue type thing.
FireFingers21 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 @devalias I was about to say it sounds like you have your preferences synced with Dropbox. See the documentation syncing preferences, ensuring they're always available offline. For Dropbox, that should hopefully solve your issue. This behaviour is always a risk when using Alfred directly from a syncing service, see my specific post on why syncing with iCloud definitely doesn't work. Unfortunately these services aren't always compatible with the instant read/write access Alfred needs to his preferences to operate smoothly. devalias 1

(if so, can't believe I've been putting up with it for so long for such a simple fix!) Thanks for the tip 🖤
