ridogi
Since upgrading to Alfred 2 I have not been able to launch Firefox by typing ff. I am able to launch Chrome with gc, Activity monitor with am, etc. Typing ff just shows it as a search query: Search Google for "ff" Search Wikipedia for "ff" I'm on 2.0.5 with 10.6.8, and have the same issue on 3 computer. Preferences are synced with Dropbox. Firefox is at 21 and in /Applications Link to comment
ridogi
Oh, and I can open it by typing fire. Alfred can see it, so it is just the ff shortcut doesn't work. Link to comment

Add a spotlight comment on Firefox of 'ff' and then it will work as expected [if it doesn't, you may need to type reload in Alfred] Cheers, Andrew Moved to Help subforum Link to comment

_mk_
I have set "Apps Matching" in Advanced Prefs to "Full fuzzy match". Firefox shows up as expected when searching for "ff" Link to comment
AlfredFreak
This only works for me if I use full fuzzy match. Link to comment
jdfwarrior
This only works for me if I use full fuzzy match. This only works for me if I use full fuzzy match. Full fuzzy works on word boundaries and the other fuzzy search options works by searching based on capital letters in the name. Since the second 'f' in Firefox isn't capitalized, the regular fuzzy doesn't work, but the full fuzzy does. Link to comment
makani
I had a similar problem today. I have Things.app, and I prefer to launch it with "h". Andrew, your explanation about adding a Spotlight comment fixed it for me. Glad I searched a bit before opening up a new topic. It's been driving me crazy for a long time, and I finally decided to fix it. I suggest adding it to a FAQ or some other help location such as this: http://support.alfredapp.com/kb:indexing Although I won't forget it again, and will be adding lots of comments now. Thanks again! Edited October 3, 2013 by makani Link to comment
