315234 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 (edited) Sorry if this is available or has been discussed before, or if I have misunderstood something below. It would be nice to enable specifying POST data for a web search. Currently only queries using GET are possible. Here is an example of a search field which uses POST data only: https://www-lib.soton.ac.uk For example, Opera (browser) has an option for search engines you add. Edited August 10, 2013 by 315234
jdfwarrior Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Sorry if this is available or has been discussed before, or if I have misunderstood something below. It would be nice to enable specifying POST data for a web search. Currently only queries using GET are possible. Here is an example of a search field which uses POST data only: https://www-lib.soton.ac.uk For example, Opera (browser) has an option for search engines you add. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand WHAT it is that you are asking for but, technically this search page works as a GET also. https://www-lib.soton.ac.uk/uhtbin/cgisirsi/oOlnsUEt76/HARTLEY/17100976/123?searchdata1=test The above URL works perfectly to query that site. Obviously, you would replace "test" at the end with {query} for an Alfred custom search. If it needed to be a more advanced search, you may have to add a field value or two, but, that would be the case even if it were a POST that you wanted to do.
315234 Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) Well here is one that doesn't, as far as I can tell: http://dx.doi.org And also, the link you give above has already expired. Edited August 13, 2013 by 315234
