reverse search contacts

Recommended Posts

I am trying to find some workflow or any other suitable solution to use alfred to search for i.e. a part of an e-mail address or a phone number and it gives me back the entry of my address book, if there is any.

i want to enter "34567" or "contact 34567" and it would give me contacts that have for example +4930123456789.

is there a workflow or maybe a secret function i have not found yet that can reverse search my address book?

i used to do this back with spotlight search, when a number called to find out if i know who it is. i kind of miss that search since i switched to alfred.

Hi there,

Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This allows us to confirm your Powerpack status first :) We'll then be happy to help you out!

Cheers,

Vero

i have none. am i not going to get any advice before i didnt buy your software?

You can have all the advice you want, as far as I'm concerned,  as long as you're friendly  ;)

But you won't be able to run workflows without the PowerPack …

As far as I can tell, Alfred doesn't consider phone numbers in searches (it thinks you want to use its calculator), but it would be very simple to very difficult (depending on your coding ability) to write a workflow to perform that function. That said, it's currently impossible to get Alfred to recognise the result as a Contact, but you could open the Contact in other apps, including Contacts.app.
