jowens
I've happily used Alfred 2 for quite some time, but after rebooting today, Alfred 2 will not start; the Activity Monitor notes "not responding". Here's the sample: https://gist.github.com/jowens/24df4f54469c97476a70 OS X 10.9.4 on a MacBook Pro 15". Alfred is 2.3, April 30, 2014 at 5:45 AM. This shows the pause in trying to access some metadata for some of the default files. There are a few things you could try, firstly, try temporarily creating a new user account on your Mac and seeing if the issue exists. If so, try doing a full reindex of your Mac (shortcut in Alfred's Advanced prefs... in the popup, select to delete the Spotlight-V100 folder). Let me know how you get on! Cheers, Andrew [moving to investigating]
jowens
I've had other Spotlight problems, so I just went straight to rebuilding the index (from the command line). That's now in progress. It's not fast. Perhaps if it's clear to Alfred that the Spotlight index is unbearably slow, it should just a) not work and suggest to the user that he/she rebuild the index and give 'em the big "Rebuild index now!" button?
