kop48
What you were doing when the issue happenedAlmost every time the window is brought up using the keyboard shotcut Whether you were able to replicate it a second time by performing the same actionYes Include any screenshots that might help us Include the Alfred version & build number you are using2.4 (279) Include your OS X version10.9.4 Alfred's performance has been extremely poor since the 2.4 update. Bringing up the window using the keyboard shortcut and typing to find an app. The app will show the first letter being typed, then pause and seem to freeze, then suddenly catch up. Disabling Contact Search seems to fix the issue. Edited August 27, 2014 by kop48

Disabling Contact Search seems to fix the issue. I'm not seeing this issue so it could be related to possible corruption somewhere in your Contacts / OS X's Contacts API. You can actually switch Alfred to use contact metadata instead of the OS X Contact API in Alfred's Features > Contacts > Advanced > "Use Spotlight metadata for searching contacts". Select that and see if it helps Cheers, Andrew

To see if it's anything relating to your main user account, you could try temporarily creating a new user account, switching to that user and running Alfred from there.
