I don't get what you're trying to do or what the problem is. Are you trying to get it to highlight the right one ?

My version ( 2.0 ) will only show the matching results. Maybe you could upgrade ?1372724495_ScreenShot2019-08-22at10_10_57.png.ac3cd0b8a12c5e6bb4dbf607eb134b66.png

I'm having a problem with some cities.  "tz los angeles 5am" works great, but when I use some other city names like turin, it does not work.

I've attached screenshots.

The problem is when I want to use tz turin 5, to see when it's 5am in Turin, what time is it in other time zones.

It doesn't work as in the screenshot.

When I do tz los angeles 5, to see when it's 5am in Los Angeles, what time is the other time zones, it works.

It's not working for all the cities.

Here is a GIF so you can see that some cities work (Los Angeles, New York) and some cities don't (Turin, Tokyo): https://cl.ly/21de185dbbf9

I have already updated to the newest update (August 26).

I'm missing the flag for Åland, I noticed it's not in the free country flags website. Åland belongs to Finland, but is an autonomous province (with its own flag). Would it be possible to add their flag, or if not, have it represented by the Finnish flag rather than by the question mark flag? Thanks!

Try v2.15:

Although GMT and UTC share the same current time in practice, there is a basic difference between the two:

  • GMT is a time zone officially used in some European and African countries. The time can be displayed using both the 24-hour format (0 - 24) or the 12-hour format (1 - 12 am/pm).
  • UTC is not a time zone, but a time standard that is the basis for civil time and time zones worldwide. This means that no country or territory officially uses UTC as a local time.

Just pick a place in GMT time zone, like Reykjavík in Iceland ( https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/iceland/reykjavik )

Hi,

thanks for the great workflow.

I asked myself how/if I could specify a timezone instead of a city when converting (date)times.

Very often I only get information like `26 May, 15:00, AEST`.

Then I need to look up any supported city within the AEST timezone like `Brisbane AU` before I can eventually use the workflow.

Is there any way to achieve this with the workflow directly?

Thanks,

 Andy

v2.16, 16 August 2020

  • #35 Pull Request Fix incorrect City -> Country mapping
  • Converted time copied to Clipboard after hitting Enter
  • #36 Added hybrid time format: 24hr (12hr), i.e. 14:30 (2:30 pm). Change using 'timezone both'
  • #22, #25: Support for UTC timezone (timezone add utc)

Hi Jarek,

Thanks for the update. I noticed that the workflow no longer respects the order of the timezone list file, but orders them in order of time no matter what I do. Is this intentional ?

cool stuff! thanks!

suggestion :
- search city that is not in favourite list
- search timezone that is not in favourite list

why ?

There's so many virtual meeting with different people around the world nowadays, some city / area that i've never even heard off, let alone in my favourite list! ha!

Anyway, thanks again!
