Can't get Remote to connect [Resolved]

Recommended Posts

1. Are both your Mac and iOS device on the same wifi network? (Include IP addresses of both devices)

Macbook Pro  (10.10.2) -

IP: 192.168.1.80

Submask: 255.255.255.0

Router:192.168.1.254

Ipad Air 2:

IP: 192.168.1.127

Submask: 255.255.255.0

Router: 192.168.1.254

2. What kind of network is it? (home, office, university, etc?)

Home

3. Did you try restarting both your Mac and iOS device?

Several full restarts of both Macbook and Ipad

4. When you go to the "Add iOS Remote" step on your Mac, can your iOS device see the Mac at all?

No not at all, just has my router name and keeps searching

5. Are you running anything that could block connections? (i.e. Little Snitch, NetBarrier, firewall settings on your Mac or network)

No firewall running and have Little Snitch running with Alfred allowed and have turn it off but still refuses to connect.

Never managed to get it connected using either the automatic or a direct connection.

Can anyone help ?

Your network looks like it should be compatible... what router do you have? Do you have wireless isolation enabled?

Also, do you have any other wireless devices which connect to your Mac such as an AirPlay device?

I used a BT Home Hub 3 (This is a very popular UK internet provider supplied router). No wireless isolation function

No other devices, I have an iPhone 5 and alfred remote is doing the same on that as I reported earlier.

Tried setting up a new account as per some other forum entries and the results are still the same.

Frustrating as I love Alfred and use it all the time

The BT Home Hub should work great with Alfred Remote... so I'm wondering if Little Snitch is getting in the way.

The process which should be allowed access is "Alfred Remote Server" - could you try disabling Little Snitch? Also, if you have OS X's firewall enabled, turn that off for a moment too.
