Evernote Workflow 9 beta 4 (Alfred 4)

Recommended Posts

I have one note that I'm bringing up from the ens search. It previews the right note (using shift), comes up properly if I open it by searching in spotlight, but pulls up the wrong note when I open it from Alfred. Any ideas why that could happen?

Thank you.

Right now it is not possible to import attached files but I’ll see what can be done about it.

Hi Carlos,

When I try to add a note with a notebook specified, it does not work for me.

e.g. ennew This is my subject #tips#geek

This should create an evernote note with the tag 'tips' and in the notebook 'geek', but does not. If I type it without the notebook specified it works.

e.g. ennew This is my subject #tips

With no tag or notebook it works fine too.

It doesn't matter whether I select to type a new note or create it from the clipboard or text selection.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Alex

It seems you are using an older version of the workflow.

Please, go to the initial post and download version 7.1 of the workflow.

Note that the new keyword is enn instead of ennew

I just made a test here and it worked.

Finally, make sure to use Evernote from evernote.com due some MAS version sandbox limitations.

Hey Carlos,

It's working now. I had to delete the workflow before installing... I think it's because Alfred now tries to keep the old keywords?

Best,

Alex

Something I noticed... when creating a note from finder selected files, it creates notes for each file with the filename as the note title. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Alex

Yes. The workflow creates one note per file. Would be one note for all selected files a better approach?

Hi Carlos,

I can't speak for others but a single note was what I was expecting.

The UI makes it seem this way too as the title, tags and notebook show below "New note from finder selected files".

What do others think? Perhaps if no title/notebook/tags are typed in the files get added separately but if you put a title/tags/notebook in then they get combined into that one note?

Best,

Alex

Carloz, tags having a space (like., "Customer support") doesn't show any notes. it does show the tag in the list. (ens #customer will show the tag "Customer support" in the list of tags. but the result, after selecting the tag is "No results".

Good point. I’ll see if I can make some tweaks later today. I’ll let you know. Thank you.

Hey Carlos,

It adds multiple files to the same note but uses the name of the first file for the name of the note, even when I specify a name.

If I add tags or a notebook, the note is not added.

Alex

Thank you.

Carloz, the new beta  workflow is showing results in alfred, but after hitting "Show in Evernote", there are no notes. I've found that this workflow puts search query as tag:Customer support in the evernote app. It should insert tag:"Customer support" in the search query.

The name procedure was not changed but it should be different now.

I made several tests with notes with more than on file and it seems to be working.

Here is a new beta: download

Hey Carlos,

I downloaded and tested the new version and have found the following:

- Multiple files are combined into the same note, but the title is always "X items from Finder" no matter what I specify.

- If I specify tags, the note is added with correct tags.

- If I specify a notebook (with or without tags), nothing happens.

Best,

Alex

Can you please write the exact command that is not working? E.g. enn My Title#My tag#My notebook

I'm finding adding anything with a notebook is failing me.

--

I select 3 PDFs in Finder (all under 100KB each) then trigger Alfred and type:

enn Test ##geek

Select "New Note from Finder Selected Files"

Expected behaviour: Create a note called "Test" in the notebook "Geek" that includes the 3 PDFs.

Result: Nothing happens

--

Same command but with a tag specified:

enn Test #travel#geek

Select "New Note from Finder Selected Files"

Result: Nothing happens

--

I then repeated these but selecting "Type a Note" and nothing happens.

Best,

Alex
