Can I Use a Workflow to Check for Device Firmware Updates?

Greetings!

 

I'm a relative noob to Alfred workflow creation, so I'm not sure this is possible, so I'm asking the gurus here on the forum...

 

I have a handful of electronic devices, such as Withings Pulse, Withings wifi Scale, Fugoo bluetooth speaker, etc.. As we all know, firmware for such devices is updated on occasion, but I seem to find out about those updates months or more after they are released.

 

Does it make sense to use Alfred to search on manufacturer-specific sites for firmware updates? If so, any suggestions on how to approach this? I'm OK using some applescript as well, but would like to do as much as possible within Alfred.

No, not really. It seems you’d benefit from a completely automated process, that would occasionally check those websites and report back in case of an update.

If you link to the exact pages where firmware updates are released, I’ll see if I can build something for you.
