crazygerry
Can I set up a keyword list, and have Alfred automatically search documents (typically PDF) when they are downloaded? Something that would function like Google alerts, but for my documents. Spotlight would also work, if it could be set up with a keyword list and would scan all incoming documents. Any ideas? Thank you, Gerry

Thank you, Gerry Alfred doesn't index your documents, as this is done by OS X itself; He simply presents you with the results made available by OS X. With the Powerpack and a workflow, you could create a keyword or hotkey based file filter that looks at the search scopes you want (e.g. all pdf files within the last 7 days) so that you can type, for example "pdf budget" and all relevant pdf files will appear in Alfred's results. Here's an example: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/ You would need to perform the search manually, however, unless you set up a script on your Mac to periodically perform that search. (Fellow community members can help you create this as it's not a standard part of Alfred) If the above in the right vein, as mentioned, you'll need the Powerpack to use and create workflows: https://www.alfredapp.com/powerpack/ Cheers, Vero
