ginader Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) I'm using Alfred 3.0.2 Build 676 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and I can't get the snippets to expand anymore. I successfully activated and used the feature when it was just released. Now it doesn't do anything anymore. Is there a way to debug this to see what is doing/not doing? I, of course, walk through all the classic things like restarting, deactivating and reactivating the security setting. I have no idea what to do next. I saw the thread ofer here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/8871-alfred-3-snippets-dont-auto-expand-fix-awaiting-chromium-bug-fix/page-2#entry44738 and the open bug but there doesn't seem to have been any updates since June so I was hoping someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong? I do not have LastPass but I am using 1Password 6 Version 6.3.1 (631006). Is there maybe a similar issue? Edited July 12, 2016 by ginader
deanishe Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Typically when your snippet expander stops working, it's because some application enabled Secure Input mode when you used a password field, and didn't deactivate it again. Snippet expansion apps like TextExpander and Typinator warn you when this happens, but I don't think Alfred does. Usually, you just need to quit the application that enabled Secure Input, but that's hard if Alfred isn't telling you which one it was. There's a list of apps that can cause issues at the TextExpander page I linked above. In my experience, it's usually my browser, especially Chrome, that causes this issue.
