Snippets no longer expanding

Recommended Posts

I'm using Alfred 3.0.2 Build 676 on OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and I can't get the snippets to expand anymore. I successfully activated and used the feature when it was just released. Now it doesn't do anything anymore. Is there a way to debug this to see what is doing/not doing?

I, of course, walk through all the classic things like restarting, deactivating and reactivating the security setting. I have no idea what to do next.

I saw the thread ofer here: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/8871-alfred-3-snippets-dont-auto-expand-fix-awaiting-chromium-bug-fix/page-2#entry44738 and the open bug but there doesn't seem to have been any updates since June so I was hoping someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I do not have LastPass but I am using 1Password 6

Version 6.3.1 (631006). Is there maybe a similar issue?

Typically when your snippet expander stops working, it's because some application enabled Secure Input mode when you used a password field, and didn't deactivate it again.

Snippet expansion apps like TextExpander and Typinator warn you when this happens, but I don't think Alfred does.

Usually, you just need to quit the application that enabled Secure Input, but that's hard if Alfred isn't telling you which one it was.

There's a list of apps that can cause issues at the TextExpander page I linked above. In my experience, it's usually my browser, especially Chrome, that causes this issue.
