filtering latex files doesn't work

Recommended Posts

@Sebastian Daza & @foamster As with any other file filters, there are a few things to look at first:

1. If you search for these files in Alfred by using the "open" keyword, do they show up in results? If not, they may not be indexed or in the correct scope.

2. Are you sure that the file filter's file types is correct? I believe users have reported before that latex files often have very odd/inconsistent file types so you may need to tweak this.

3. Is the search scope correct so that your files are found?

You can take a look at a file's metadata by installing the Alfred Metadata tool below and dragging in one of your latex files:

https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.1.zip

Paste the results here and we'll be able to help you make sure your file filter is set up correctly :)

Cheers,
Vero

I resolved this by manually inputting "public.tex" for the file type in the filter. The drag option was giving the wrong file type...

Thanks Vero for the response!
