Spotlight window briefly appears before Alfred

Title of the thread says it all. When I hit Command + Press, the spotlight window very briefly appears before making place for Alfred. At first, I thought the animation of Alfred showing up was laggy but after looking at it closely, it's clear Spotlight tries to take over.

 

This has been recently happening. It was fine until the update made a couple weeks or so ago.

 

I'm running a 5k Retina iMac with all software up to date. The weird thing is that I am not experiencing this on my brand new MBP.

@sebapage Have you turned off Spotlight's hotkey (or at least made it different to Alfred's) in the macOS Keyboard > Shortcuts > Spotlight prefs?

O.M.G. I feel ashamed of having missed that. 

 

To my defense, since it was always working fine until very recently, I never thought of checking that pref though.
