Email notification sound

Recommended Posts

Does Alfred have an email notification sound setting?

I keep getting a sound when I get a new email and the developer of the mail app I use (MailMate) and can't seem to locate where it's coming from.

All notifying sounds in MailMate have been disabled and the sound keeps coming. It even happens when Mailmate is closed.

I've tried Soundbunny but it shows nothing when the sound occurs.

link to the sound is here

@lazermoose Alfred doesn't have a mechanism to watch for new mail, and this sound isn't part of Alfred's sound bank, so unless you have installed a workflow doing something very specialised, this isn't coming from Alfred.

Spark does the same. Even with the app closed it can still show notifications and play sounds for received mail. I think the sound is the same, even. Perhaps some new behaviour in Sierra?

Try going into System Prefrences… → Notifications. Assuming Mailmate uses standard macOS notifications, whatever those are you should be able to disable them from there.
