Make the menubar icon and the clipboard ui more useful

As it is currently I'm hiding the Alfred menubar icon with Bartender mainly because it adds very little. What I would like though is the possibility to use the icon to select and paste items from the clipboard as an alternative to bringing up the clipboard entry list through the hotkey combination. Have a look at Collective for example. The usual functionality can be relegated to context-clicking the Alfred icon as far as I am concerned.
