Thanks for the responses. From https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/cmd-space/, I already had Spotlight, Language Switching, and Siri turned off, but following the article's advice - now I've enabled, changed the keyboard shortcut to something other than CMD+Space, and disabled again.

Hello, has anyone else had the issue with Alfred 4 of typing "too fast" that their first keystroke is lost after using the Hotkey? It has been happening to me a lot. I hit my Hotkey CMD+Space, and start typing immediately after, and the first keystroke is dropped and I only see the 2nd, 3rd keystroke, e.g., CMD+Space, mai -> yields ai in the Alfred bar and of course now showing the wrong results instead of the Mail app. I've used Alfred 2 and 3, and this inconvenience is making me consider switching back to Alfred 3 since it happens so often. Is there any setting I can change to make the delay between "Hotkey" and "accepting input" smaller? Thanks!
