I was using Alfred web search with Google Chrome on macOS. This used to work seamlessly with all my custom searches. Alfred would open the page in the browser window that was stacked above all the others. So if I had a regular window and an Incognito window and the Incognito window was on top and I used a custom search, the page would open in Incognito. I recently switched to another default browser, then switched back, and now Alfred will only ever open searches in a non-Incognito window. Even if the only window present is Incognito, it will launch a non-Incognito one for the searches. I find this extremely undesirable. I'm not sure whether this is due to Chrome or Alfred.
