Right-click on any theme to duplicate it - you'll then be able to edit any of the duplicates. You just can't edit the default themes at the top of the list
Right, I did that, but I still can't edit my duplicates. The colour selector for Background Colour, for example, will allow me to reconfigure the colours, and the changes will be reflected in the selector, but the changes don't take on the actual theme.

It looks like you're not able to make changes to the colour schemes for the default OSX Yosemite themes. I was hoping to do it so I can lose the shadow effect around Alfred for a cleaner look.

...and I feel like a dummy. I needed to turn the brightness up on the Colour Wheel menu.
