  1. Hello, It wasn't always the case but I can't think of what may have changed to make Alfred (or my browser) to do this: basically when I invoke Alfred and type in say 'dog', and my browser (Brave, Chrome, Firefox, any) has no open windows or is not running, what it does is it opens two browser windows: – At the front an empty one – At the back, one with either the search results for the word I typed into Alfred, or the website if I typed a full, correct URL into it I remember this wasn't always the case and I would just get one browser window with the relevant results/website from Alfred. Any ideas what I could play with to try and go back to what the previous behaviour was? Thank you.
  2. Thank you for this, but it still doesn't work. Tried clearing Alfred's cache, quitting it, reopening it, nothing. The only thing that works is the alfred:ignore command, after which I have to clear Alfred's cache before it works, but custom keyboards in the Comments field are just not picked up by Alfred at all.
  3. Aaaand… it's not working. I tried both shop and alfred:shop, and clearing Alfred's cache, but no result. Any ideas? I wonder if it's because Photoshop is in its own Adobe folder rather than in Applications but that shouldn't really make a difference once a comment is attached to it, I think.
  4. Aaaah thank you all. Vero, I thought as much but didn't actually get round to try it. Thanks for the prompt reply!
  5. Hello, As per the subject line, partial matching doesn’t seem to work anymore for me in Alfred 2 and El Capitan. Is there any setting or tweak I can apply, or custom keyword to add to specific apps, to make it work again? Thank you.
  6. Thanks Vero. As you can see in the meantime I was allowed to post here in the end I will let you know how things go. Thank you.
  7. Now the custom searches work on my main (home) machine, after I did what I outlined above (unticking and ticking them back). But they don't work on my office machine, and I hope now that the office machine's settings won't be passed back on to my home machine so that my home machine will stop working too. Very unpredictable behaviour. Any thought?
  8. Thank you very much deanishe for the help, it is exactly what I was looking for.
  9. Hello, Some time ago I used to be able (I think still with Alfred 1) to use partial matches that wouldn't start from the beginning of an app's name. For instance I always found easier to type "shop" and Alfred would find PhotoShop, or "smit" and Transmit was launched. Now this doesn't seem to be the case anymore, is there a setting somewhere to allow this functionality again? Thank you.
  10. Hello David, Thanks for your reply. I went into the folder and there is one folder for each web search, but only the standard ones. But the mistery deepens: I open the preferences, and now the custom searches are listed again, but don't work. I tried unticking the "Active" option at the far right of each item, and ticking it back again, and they work now. Very very odd behaviour. Maybe something for the Alfred team to look into to avoid future problems? Thanks anyway for your help.
  11. Hello everybody, this is my first post here. Today all of a sudden, without doing anything, my custom web searches were reset and all the ones I created manually disappeared. This happened on my work machine and quickly propagated to my home computer as well, with the result that now I have no custom searches on any of my machines. I sync Alfred through Dropbox, which supports versioning. I was thinking that maybe there is a preference file in which the custom searches are stored, and that I could restore that file to a previous, say yesterday’s, version? Can you please advise on what file/s to restore to try and have the custom web searches back? Thank you for your help.
