  1. I've tried all those things to no avail. I even compared every setting between my two Macs and couldn't find anything Then it occured to me that those two machines are actually fundamentally different when it comes to the general setup; my MacBook Pro laptop has a single drive with everything on it whereas my Mac Pro has several physical drives -Mac OSX and all the apps are on a different drive than my home folders After all, I could launch my apps with Alfred, but couldn't get it to locate my files or folders. I thought I had everything covered in Alfred's Features - Default results - Search scope section where "Include folders in home" was enabled, but obviously it doesn't work in this situation. So I tried to drag and drop the whole drive volume icon into the "Search scope" section and all of a sudden I could find my files and folders! It would make sense to have just the path of my own user folder there, but that didn't work. Neither did having the entire /Users/ folder, strangely enough, so for some reason I need to have the entire drive (with the /Users/xxxxx folders on. So problem solved, but why doesn't "Include folders in home" work, and why do I have to add the entire drive in the search scope?
  2. Sorry for failing to mention that, but yes -I've read through it and all looks fine. I also forgot to mention that searching through a Finder window (CMD-F) or calling up Spotlight (CMD-Space) locates the files or folders right away, so the indexing is apparetly working fine. I've also tried resetting Alfred's settings. I suspect I've just missed out on enabling/disabling a setting somewhere...
  3. I use Alfred (2.8.4) for two things: as an app launcher and for locating files or folders by their names. Recently I had to reinstall OSX (and all my apps) and I'm no longer able to find files/folders. The strange thing is that with my other Mac this works fine and my Alfred search settings (Features- "Default results" and "File search") seem to be identical. Both Macs run the same OSX version (10.9.5) and Alfred version. What could the reason be, and how can I make it search for file and folder names?
  4. "Automatically check for updates" is ignored (Little Snitch tells me Alfred wants to go online) even if I have it disabled. If I have it disabled (Alfred Preferences-Update), quit then start it again it's enabled again. This happens every time I try it. Alfred 2.7.1 (387) Mac OSX 10.9.5
