Add to Apple Notes workflow

Hello!

 

I would like to have a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to type in a note that will then create a new note with that content in Apple notes.  There is an old workflow from 2013 that says it will do this, but it does not work (https://github.com/surrealroad/alfred-notes).  I also followed some instructions online to create a workflow in Automator with AppleScript.  It works, but when I try to create a global keyboard shortcut for the service it won't work.  I am a middle-aged woman who knows nothing about coding. I thought I might be able to learn how to create my own Alfred workflow for this, but I do not understand any of the instructions.
