Shortcuts don't work inside game (starcraft)

I've used Karabiner to remap the brightness keys (since other non consumer keys apparently get disabled during game) to F19. Other consumer keys work, such as media play/pause, but once I assign the F19 shortcut to an alfred action (in this case, add to an specific Spotify playlist), it doesn't seem to trigger when the game is on fullscreen. Any ideas why?
