  1. When I run this same action in Microsoft Word, an apostrophe is entered into the Alfred search bar, but not the text. Outside of Microsoft Word, it works as expected, ie both apostrophe and text is entered into Alfred search bar. Why does it behave differently in Microsoft Word?
  2. The universal action has a 'Move to...' option when I select a file. This is really useful, but the shortcut seems to need me to know the name of the folder I want to move file to. There are times when I do not know the name of the folder I want to move file to. Is there a way to the file to a select the folder I want to move file to, without having to type in name of folder?
  3. This is context in which I would use. I have a long bibliography of references in a Microsoft Word. Here are three examples: 1. Kear, J., Editor (2005). Ducks, Geese and Swans. Volume 1: General chapters, and Species accounts (Anhima to Salvadorina). Oxford University Press, Oxford, UK. 2. Brazil, M. (2009). Field Guide to the Birds of East Asia: Eastern China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Eastern Russia. Christopher Helm, London, UK. 3. Øien, I. J., P. Tolvanen, T. Aarvak, and J. Markkola (1999). Occurrence and identification of Lesser While-fronted Goose. Alula 5(1):18–23. These references are also saved as PDFs on my computer. Instead of having to open Alfred and and type 'Field Guide to the Birds of East Asia to find the PDF, I want to select "Field Guide to the Birds of East Asia" in the bibliography of the Microsoft Word document and use the selected text to open the PDF.
  4. Do that only work when files are selected? I am wanting to find a file by selecting text. But that text is the filename.
  5. A useful feature in Alfred is pressing the spacebar (which inserts an apostrophe) to find a file. Instead of typing text in Alfred, can I search for the file by selecting text and using a Text Action? There is already the action 'Use in Alfred' which nearly does what I want, but I cannot see a way of searching specifically for a file.
  6. Thanks for your patience. It looks to be working now.
  7. If I select a file in Finder this is copied to clipboard: read_excel("/Users/luciano/Desktop/Sheet2.xlsx") But if I try to run from Alfred search bar (by pressing space twice) this is all that is copied to clipboard. read_excel("") Any idea why path and file name not also being copied when run from search bar?
  8. Thanks for continuing help! I want this to run from the Alfred search bar, rather than having to select file in Finder. Is there a way to do that?
  9. Thanks done. Although just noticed it only copies the path and not file name. How can I copy both path and file name? It does this: read_excel("/Desktop") But what I need is this: read_excel("/Desktop/some_data.txt")
  10. Only thing that varies is the path. In all instances, I need to copy this to clipboard: read_excel("<<path>>")
  11. I'm trying to make a similar workflow to this. I need to get the path, then add some text. Let's say I have the file "some_data.txt" on my Desktop. I need to get the path /Desktop/some_data.txt Then I need to add the text read_excel, some quote marks and brackets and copy it to clipboard. So what should be copied to clipboard is this: read_excel("/Desktop/some_data.txt") Attached is what I have so far. I just need to figure out how to add text to the path.
  12. Got as far as attached. Am I missing connections between actions? How do I connect them?
  13. When I have tapped space twice to search for a file, and then hit the right arrow, is there an option to copy the entire file name? Similar to 'Copy Path to Clipboard' but instead of entire path, just the filename?
  14. Yes only RStudio. Cannot see anything in Preferences. Nothing in clipboard after selecting. Funny thing is Clipboard Merging not triggered every time I hit ⌘ + C, only about 75% of presses it is triggered.
