christinekling
My 2018 laptop died last week, and I had to buy a new one. I was on the road and had not brought my external drive with Time Machine back-up, so I found myself having to reload from new. I'm having difficulty getting Alfred 5 to work for me. On my Snippets page I get this red ink that reads "Loginwindow seems to be preventing text expansion by locking secure entry." This doesn't tell me what to do about it. I've tried searching various phrases from this message on this forum and I don't get any hits. Is this issue due to the fact that I am trying to add a new Mac without removing the old one? How do I remove an old machine off my license? I would appreciate any help from anywhere. Christine Link to comment
Stephen_C
When you encounter that problem try locking your Mac and then unlocking it again using the fingerprint reader. Does that solve the problem? Stephen Link to comment
christinekling
Thank you! I don't know why, but that worked! Link to comment
Stephen_C
I believe this to be an Apple bug and have mentioned it a few times on the forums here. I reported the bug to Apple (via the Feedback Assistant) in 2019. It still seems to be present <sigh>. Stephen Link to comment
