Cannot launch or force quit..

Alfred quit working for me a few days ago, and will not launch from it's key combination.

 

When I mouse over the icon in the menubar, I am getting a beachball..

 

I've tried rebooting to no avail, the issue persists

 

I saw a different smiliar thread where an admin suggested reinstalling over the app in /Applications, but when I try to do this it tells me it's running and cannot be replaced. 

 

Suggestions?

If you open Activity Monitor.app, select Alfred 2 and then click the stop button in the toolbar... this will force quit Alfred. You can then replace the app in /Applications! Let me know how you get on

Heh, that's perfect, it worked great! Thanks! Wow, I feel really babied by Alfred. I keep trying to use it to bring it up to do everything, like, launch the Activity Monitor.. I had to go search for it manually
