  1. I just tried 3 times in TextEdit and it worked each time. Now it's also working in this forum. But that's not surprising as the issue can be sporadic. It seems to work better in a forum or browser form field after I've pasted successfully in another app. I'll try changing the keyword and let you know if that makes a difference.
  2. Thanks for your reply. I've done some testing and this issue seems to happen most often in form fields and in forums. In fact, I just tested it in this box that I'm writing this reply in, and it happened here. The snippet that I invoked via the keyword (my email address) got pasted but that was appended with the most recent item that was in my clipboard history as well. This doesn't happen in Mail, Pages, or other applications.
  3. I have a snippet set up with auto expansion. When I type the keyword, the snippet appears twice rather than just once. Example: the snippet is my@emailaddress.com When I type the keyword, the resulting expansion is: "my@emailaddress.commy@emailaddress.com" This only happens in some applications/environments. It is not happening in this text entry form in this forum. But it just happened in a Facebook message.
  4. I'd like to create a workflow that copies the URL from the current tab in my web browser (Brave.app) and pastes it into a new text message (Messages.app), using a keystroke. This would be similar to "command-shift-I", which does the same thing but with a new email. Is this possible, and how would I do it? Thanks.
  5. When I type the name of an application into Alfred, I get two results: Systems/Volumes/Data/Applications/xxxx.app Applications/xxxx.app I assume the second one is the one I should be using. How can I remove the first from search results?
  6. Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.
  7. I've been using an app called Spark to launch applications using the Fn keys. I recently got a new Macbook Pro which doesn't have Fn keys, or at least not solid keys (I have the TouchBar version). Since I'm now using Alfred for this kind of thing, I'd like to configure it to launch some of my most commonly used applications using keystrokes, such as "control-z" or "control-a". How do I do that?
  8. I need to reinstall El Capitan on my iMac (primary Alfred computer). It is currently syncing Alfred settings to Dropbox, but once I do a fresh install of OS X, the "primary" computer that Alfred was installed on will no longer exist. After I reinstall Alfred on the fresh copy of OS X, how do I import/restore settings/snippets, and how do I assign it as the "primary" install of Alfred?
  9. When I type a snippet, and the text expands, it plays a system sound. Is there a way to turn this off?
  10. I just switched from Launchbar to Alfred, and am loving it! One question: in Launchbar, when I typed "AirDrop", it would show up in the list, and I could quickly open the AirDrop window. When I do that in Alfred, it doesn't show up. How can I fix that?
  11. I tried to figure this out, using the "paste text clip from hotkey" template in the Workflows pane, but I wasn't able to. If you can help that would be great.
  12. I frequently do research where I look up the references at the end of a scientific paper. The steps involved are as follows: Select the name of the paper in the PDF on my computer, and copy to clipboard Invoke Alfred Use the keyword "Google" to trigger a Google search, followed by typing spacebar Paste the copied text into Alfred Hit return This isn't all that laborious, but I'd love to create a workflow where I could just invoke a keystroke after #1 above and have steps 2-5 done automatically. I've never created a workflow before and I'm not particularly tech savvy. I'd appreciate your help with setting this up. Thanks!
