    Thanks for the reply folks.

Stephen_C  I used your suggestion after I figured out that I had to have the YouTube URL on my computer, i.e. link on desktop.  I could not just open Safari then YouTube and copy or drag the link over to Alfred. In the end I figured it out, thanks a lot.

Vitor  I will have to investigate your tip and read up on Automation Task. Thanks also for taking time to reply to my request.

This is a great forum to solicit assistance.

To open a new window specifically, there’s an Automation Task for that.

Yes, it's easy to do what you want. Simply connect a Hotkey Trigger to an Open URL Action—just putting in the latter the YouTube URL you wish to open and ensuring you've selected Safari as the browser in which to open the URL (which will happen automatically if Safari is your default browser).

Thanks for the timely reply Stephen and for the wonderful instructions. I followed these instructions to a "T" and now I have my former Alfred Preferences associated with Alfred on my new Mac.  You made my day!!

What you need to do is to retrieve your old Alfred.alfredpreferences file from your old Time Machine backup and copy it over your existing Alfred.alfredpreferences file on your new machin (assuming you've not yet created any unique workflows on your new machine).

You will probably find your old preferences file in ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/  and if you've not set up any specific location for Alfred's preferences on your new machine you should be able to find the file to ovewrite in the same location on your new machine.

Please note this Alfred help page: the link to which explains which settings will not carry over in the preferences file.
