  1. Did you ever resolve this? I will hijack this thread since it's unresolved or I can make a new one.

I'm having this issue with at least one folder in iCloud Drive. It is for the "Just Press Record" app. Spotlight can see all the files inside of it. Alfred sees other files in other iCloud folders, just not this one.

    - I have Rebuilt Metadata in both ways multiple times and rebooted multiple times.

    - I have reset Search Scope to default in Alfred and added this one particular folder

    - I added a spotlight comment "wifd" to the "wifd mos.m4a" file and still it doesn't show up

    - Permissions are 644, which should be fine

    - I'm not using Optimized Storage for iCloud

    Any help would be appreciated!

Here is the troubleshooting output both for one of the files and the folder itself:

Hi @Andrew -- thanks for this tweak, I'll definitely try it and see how it works.

I understand the tension you have with latching duration, and I would still like to see something like "pinning" to give some terms special privilege, as you could do in Quicksilver. This means the algorithm still works as usual, but individual pinned items will override the latch expiry — this would overcome your issues with latching. This does require some sort of UI so I do understand it is a non-trivial feature request. The easiest is just a keyboard trigger, so lets say I type sn which I always want to be connected to the "Find your Snippets", when that is focussed in the Alfred window, then I press ⌘⌥P and that pairing is pinned. This would already really help without any further work, but the question is what happens if later I need to reassign sn; the easiest way would be I just focus a new entry and ⌘⌥P again. Perhaps a button to erase all pins to reset back to default?

I'm a fan of this. Or just a .txt file I can edit

  4. Hi Andrew,

I'd be happy with a Workflow Keyword setting that always put it to the top, so there's no bloat.

See, I often have to abandon certain projects for months to do other things, and then when I come back to using certain sets of apps, Alfred has forgotten everything. The feeling I like to get from using Alfred is like driving a car where everything is in the right place. It makes my computer feel like a well oiled machine, but if suddenly the wrong app is opening, it kills that feeling.

    Thanks!

    Aaron

It's rare that people have asked for permanent latching, and in Alfred's eyes, if something hasn't been used in a month, it's better to retire that latch so that other results can assume it more easily. Having said that, I do see that it could be of use to some people.

I'll add a ticket internally and have a think about it once I get through the plethora of really quite exciting things which are in the works for Alfred 5.

I am also going to move this to Feature Suggestions to see if there is any other interest from other users.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

I must be neurodivergent because lack of permanent latching drives me absolutely insane and has for years. Please please Alfred gods, give us some kind of checkbox.

I keep getting this error code when entering the server info.

I'm also having this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

  7. Doing some Alfred + Keyboard Maestro combo automations and it would be nice to know if Alfred has been invoked when I've hidden its Dock icon. Does Alfred write to some file somewhere saying it's currently open and then write again to that file when it's been dismissed?

If not, then this would be a feature request. Thanks!

    Aaron

  8. Anyone got a working Dropbox link workflow? The one I've been using has broken and all the others seem broken. But this seems like a thing most Alfred users would use all the time and I don't see any posts about it here, so maybe it's just me?

This is the workflow I had been using

    https://ryanmo.co/2017/05/16/create-dropbox-links-from-alfred/

Now I get the error "No module named idna" ... I tried manually installing idna but that doesn't help.

Ryan, the author, doesn't post his contact info on his blog so I'm not sure how to contact him. Any help would be much appreciated!

  9. Anyone else having trouble with the Find Folder workflow? I just noticed it wasn't working. It's so simple it makes me think it's an Alfred bug? Tried restarting Alfred, changing the keyword to something else and then back to "f"... and deleting the "public.folder" type and re-adding a folder to it. Nothing works. I also tried another workflow with the same functionality "Simple Folders Filter" Nada

    I'm on macOS 10.14.4 and Alfred 4.04

    Screen Shot 2019-10-11 at 12.22.12 PM.png

  10. Ideally Alfred would work just like LauchBar and let me copy multiple contact fields. I work in an industry where I have to share contact info all the time as plain text and LaunchBar is the only app I've found that can do what I want.

I'm trying to create a workflow that's attached to the Custom Action of the Name field. I select the name and hit Enter and the script will use the name to search my contacts and copy all the fields to the clipboard as plain text. I have very little knowledge of how to do this so I got stuck very quick. There's an action in Automator to do this but you need to pass it the actual ID of the contact which I have no idea how to get.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
