Then create a category called "Pinned" and put the workflows in it.
The whole "the Alfred team has very limited resources for implementing new features" message isn't really getting through to you, is it?
I'm not demanding new features, I'm saying I would like it to be introduced at some point. In my mind, if the developers see that users want a feature they'll be more likely to implement it. When I think of something that will improve Alfred I will mention it. If anything, someone will provide a solution to what I want to do. I'm trying to take full advantage of Alfred. I now know of a way to list workflows at the top with "_" and I wouldn't have done thought of that for some time had I not brought it up. I apologize if I have gone too far.

I name those with leading _. And if one needs further priority, I add more. When they’re ready, there is a single visible place that needs changing.
This is not an argument against pinning, I’m just explaining the method I use and that you may want to replicate.
Good Idea! I use a similar thing for files in finder, somehow I didn't think to do that to Alfred workflows... I'll start doing this!
The ability to pin still would be great, though!

Maybe an alternative to this would be pinning workflows to the top of the workflow browser? I would definitely pin the workflows that I'm working on and I bet it would see more use than folders.

This is exactly what i feel. And no Alfred is not a "Launcher" in my opinion. no one uses Alfred as "just a Launcher".
Also, about:I Think you can let the user choose how "noisy" or not he want's he's search results to be, just like you do with other file types, like this:
I'm also switching to spotlight again, because is a very main thing in my searching workflow, and it's really
disappointing that Alfred doesn't support it. i think it's really should be added.
I don't know if this helps but I use notes daily and I use this workflow to search my apple notes.

That's a ridiculous number. It's not surprising you have difficulty managing them.
Yeah... LOL! I went through the websites and downloaded every one I could find and messed around with them. I found some surprising uses for ones that I never would have downloaded had I not done that. Eventually I'll clear some of them out but It's low on my list. Grouping them would hide most of the ones away. I do have most of the ones I wouldn't use disabled so they don't appear but... Yeah. There's always a few crazies like me but I'm trying to take full advantage of Alfred & everything it can do.
There's always going to be a few people that would benefit from folders, and the people that don't necessarily want them now might end up using them if they're ever implemented. This post goes all the way back to 2013 so it's something people would probably still want.

It cannot in the current implementation, no. Not sure if it would be a good idea either because it’d require macOS to constantly send information back to the iOS app. I’m not saying that would be a problem, just that it might be or go against the design goals of Remote.
It's something I'm used to on my Stream Deck & with my Alfred Remote that I use alongside that for some extra buttons it would be handy. Can this be moved to suggestions?

I have about 1,000 workflows installed and it would be extremely helpful to have a more powerful way to sort workflows, categories are not enough for me. Being able to make folders to group workflows in Alfred Preferences would be handy. This doesn't already exist right?

ObjC.import('AppKit'); function run(argv) { let pboard = $.NSPasteboard.generalPasteboard, path = argv[0], image = $.NSImage.alloc.initWithContentsOfFile(path); pboard.clearContents; if (!pboard.setDataForType(image.TIFFRepresentation, $.NSPasteboardTypeTIFF)) { throw new Error('failed to put image on pasteboard'); } }
Thanks so much!

Sorry - Do you know of a way to achieve that? Copy the image to the clipboard with a given path?

If pasting an image into some graphics program is what you're trying to do, then you should have said so.
Ideally I'd want something that would work for pasting into finder or a graphics program. I asked if I could copy the actual image to the clipboard instead of the finder path of the image. One would think there'd be something built into Alfred's workflow items that could achieve that, after all there's a built in file action for it, I don't know.
-
That works, except I see it on my clipboard in clipboard history and it lets me select it and paste it from there but command + V doesn't paste the image in any applications I try. Is that because it's using the odd way of formatting? Is there a way around that?

Can Alfred remote switch pages when active app changes?
I want to be able to have specific pages for specific apps that I am in & have them automatically switch on a per device basis. This way I could have pages specified for certain apps for a specific device. Can this be done?
Thanks!

I use a workflow that will reveal my recently taken screenshots in Alfred. By default it will reveal the screenshot in finder, but I also want to be able to paste the screenshot on action. I added a "copy to clipboard" block to be trigged with the command modifier and when I use it it copies the path to the clipboard instead of the file. I can't seem to figure out how to copy the FILE to the clipboard instead of the path. I can file action it within Alfred and copy the file to the clipboard and that does work but I can't seem to figure out how to do it from within an Alfred workflow to be triggered by a branched connection with a modifier. After all that is faster & I'd rather do it that way. How can I do this?
Thanks!

I access Pixelmator Pro more frequently, I have hundreds and hundreds of things I access daily with Alfred and it's not possible to trigger all of them with only one letter. Just like how you can "get info" on something and add to the comments and have Alfred find it, something like that should be possible for workflows. In my opinion anyway.

No. Two keywords require two Keyword elements.
If you can’t remember your Keyword, you can enter ?play into Alfred and it should find the "Play/Pause" item and show the correct keyword.
I just want it to be faster to trigger. Perhaps "Play/Pause" could show up when I type "pp" like "Pixelmator Pro" shows up with I type "pp"

No, it is not possible. How would Alfred even figure out which Keyword should be hidden and which should be shown? You type p and then what? Does it show pp, play, or neither? Either way it would be confusing.
Like searching the data within a file. Like when you search something in finder it also searches the contents of the file if it's a text document. That's what I was thinking of.

I'm making a workflow to navigate to specific forums/websites that I frequent and I'm wondering what is the best way to display these in a list when I type a keyword?
And when doing that, is it possible to have a modifier key change an action? I like being able to tell Alfred to open the website in a different window, or remain in the current window. Or should I just keep it as is?
Thanks!

Is there a way that I can make two different words show the same keyword trigger, but without showing two items in Alfred search? I want to make Play/Pause show up the keyword "pp" but still show up with "Play/Pause" incase I type "play" instead of "pp" in Alfred. Can this be done?
Thanks!

Can I create a shortcut for Alfred to show on current screen?
Most of the time I want Alfred to appear on my main screen, even if my mouse is not on it. But often I'm dragging a file from Alfred to an application, or "open file" window & I want to eliminate the 3 or so extra seconds that moving mouse to main screen + dragging file out of alfred to other screen takes. I have 3, 27 inch monitors and an iPad if you count that, and sometimes dragging takes forever - and I'm not upping my tracking speed because that would be horrible.
Small optimizations in workflow like this lead to a few minutes shaved off per day in a single task, and if you can eliminate numerous inefficiencies you save hours in a day.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! Going through and debugging this workflow is still on my to do list if you still need it!

Can holding down a modifier key + pressing an Alfred remote button trigger a different action similar to keyword action modifier?
I want to be able to map open URL to my remote buttons and have a modifier key determine if it opens in a new window or in the current window with Alfred Remote. This would finally give a use to the right hand modifier keys too!
If this doesn't exist this should be a feature request. Thanks!

I created a workflow that opens a file in a specified application. All it is: A remote trigger followed by a script output. This is the string of Applescript that Keyboard Maestro provides for an external macro trigger.
I'm wondering if there's a simple way to achieve this all within Alfred itself, to easily setup "open with" workflows to be triggered by remote/keyword instead of doing this workaround. I ask because I'm trying to learn how to do it the right way.
Thanks!

It's alright! Thanks for answering my questions without fail! I've leveled up my Alfred skills & I still have a long way to go but I will get there.
