  1. So this is strange: if I invoke Alfred 2.7.1 and type… find (name of file here) it'll find most of the files I type in, but some of them simply won't come up. For example, I have a folder called "Landmark" inside my main Documents folder here on the Mac. That folder has several sub-folders in it and about 8 TextEdit and Word documents sitting in it at the main level. Alfred, either via the FIND or OPEN command, will find or open any and all of the SUB-FOLDERS in the Landmark folder, but NONE of the documents sitting in the main Landmark folder! So totally weird. Even stranger is that Alfred does see loose documents in OTHER folders inside the main Documents folder, no problem. He even sees documents inside the sub-folders that are inside the LANDMARK folder. He just won't see any of the documents in that folder!! There may be other ones as well. I checked the permissions on the "Landmark" folder and it's the same as all my other folders. I even restarted with the Recovery Partition and repaired the drive, plus fixed permissions; no difference. I followed all the advice on the "What if Alfred can't find your files?" page. And yes, Spotlight DOES see and find the files that Alfred doesn't, with no problem at all. This is a real head-scratcher. What has Alfred got against the files inside one particular folder, such that they won't appear in his search results, even though Spotlight has no problem finding them? 2. Make that two requests! I just switched to BusyContacts as well …
  3. May have found the cause: I realized that all my number have been entered into Contacts as one long string of numbers, such as “8005551212” and then hitting the TAB key and letting Contacts auto-format the number for me. I wondered what would happen if I tried entering the number this way: “800 555 1212” … and here’s the result: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v7dvoi9mbjxczjw/Alfred%20Example.jpeg?dl=0 SO… it would appear there’s a bug in Contact’s auto-formatting. Which I have no idea how to turn off; I don’t think it can be disabled. AFAIK, if you enter a number like 555-555-1212, or use periods instead of dashes, it’ll still change it to (555)-555-1212. I’d be willing to change all my numbers to use spaces, but I have NO IDEA how I’d get through each and every of my 2000 contacts and change each number by hand! Is there a way to automate that? There was a link to a couple of scripts on this page regarding a similar issue, but the link is now dead. If anyone's got some ideas on this, would love to hear them!
  4. I'm also having this problem -- had it since Mountain Lion, then Mavericks and now with Yosemite. NOTHING WORKS. I've deleted the offending phone number, saved, restarted the Mac and then added it. No change. And since Contacts won't let me change the phone number format, there's not much else I can do. It's really bothersome because I can't see well, and depend on both Alfred and hitting the large type option to quickly see a phone number. Having all the numbers smooshed together makes this more difficult for me, so this isn't just an annoyance for me — I REALLY would like this fixed!
