Use Transform Modifiers in Web Search queries

I have a custom Web Search that encodes spaces as hyphens and I'd like to trim whitespace from the beginning and end of the string before that encoding.  In this case I'm getting the string into Alfred via a workflow that uses the selection and I sometimes get extra whitespace.  I was hoping I could do something like:

https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/{query:trim}

but that doesn't seem to work.  I think it could be useful to enable the Transform Modifiers in Web Search URLs.

I have a similar issue, in my case, I want to make a Reddit search from my clipboard with the most popular posts of all time with a snippet.

In opening URLs, only {query} is available. You can achieve what you want easily with a Workflow: connect a Keyword Input to an Argument and Variables Utility with {clipboard:0.trim} as the Argument and connect that to an Open URL Action with https://www.reddit.com/r/{query}/top/?t=all as the URL.
