Make the menubar icon toggle Alfred

I have always been using the search icon in the menu bar to toggle Search in macOS. Now that I've start using Alfred I still tend to use Search instead of Alfred because the Alfred icon does not toggle Alfred but a menu where I can toggle Alfred.

@Antwerpo Assuming I've understood your question correctly, you're saying you prefer to manually go to the menu bar and click on an icon to pop up the search box?

 

Alfred is very much intended to be used from the keyboard; Especially as our screens keep getting bigger, using the mouse to get to the top corner of your screen to pop up Alfred is quite inefficient. Set your Alfred hotkey combo to something easy and memorable, and give yourself a few days where you use that combo instead of using the mouse. I think you'll quickly discover that using the keyboard is a great and efficient way to pop up Alfred
