WInd
I have to search all file types, and only in this way can I see my xlsb and xlsm files. I have tried to add user defined file types already, but Alfred still could not file these types. Edited July 15, 2022 by WInd Link to comment
Andrew
@WInd Are the files found when you use the open keyword in Alfred? The screenshot you post, this configuration expects UTIs, not file extensions. (Interestingly, I also see Parallels icon associations for these extensions in the screenshot, which is odd). Try dragging one of the files which cannot be found into Alfred Preference's Help > Troubleshooting > File Search Troubleshooting, this will give more info on the UTI and if the file is in scope / indexed by macOS. Thanks, Andrew Link to comment

WInd
Hi Andrew I guess the reason is the default searching type is Office Open XML, so that XLSB & XLSM files are excluded. Link to comment
Andrew
Are the files being found with the open keyword? Also, the dialog above is looking for the content type instead of extension, e.g. from your diagnostics: kMDItemContentType = "com.microsoft.excel.sheet.binary.macroenabled" So instead of xlsb, you want com.microsoft.excel.sheet.binary.macroenabled This is also what should have been automatically populated when you drag a file into the custom types table. WInd
Q1:Are the files being found with the open keyword? in fact, I cannot find these files while typing the names of these files or xlsb/xlsm. The test passed because I drag the files into troubleshooting windows. Q2: So instead of xlsb, you want com.microsoft.excel.sheet.binary.macroenabled in my opinion, these are same meaning. Alfred crafts metadata queries to the macOS Metadata index which requires the kMDItemContentType, so while you may think they are the same, macOS doesn't. WInd 1 Link to comment
