I am not able to use snippets on safari, I get this message

There is quite a long thread about the same error here. If all else fails there is a suggestion that I posted in that thread that frequently works for me and may be useful if you use an Apple Watch to unlock a MacBook Pro (which I appreciate may not be relevant in your case).
