Cellicello
Hello, Recently, I noticed that Alfred couldn't find some files, but Spotlight could. I run the Help > Troubleshooting > File Search Troubleshooting > Run Troubleshooting... and it failded❌ I did Features > Default Results > Search Scope without success. Alfred could find some applications but not many files, even some on my desktop. Deep reindexed my Mac, and now even Spotlight isn't working. I noticed that Alfred will find a file I opened with the FInder. What can I do? Thank you for your help 😃 Starting Diagnostics... Vero
13 minutes ago, Cellicello said: Deep reindexed my Mac, and now even Spotlight isn't working. @Cellicello This indicates that the macOS metadata index itself is broken and needs to be sorted before either Spotlight or Alfred can return results. Please follow step 6 here, and let us know if you get any error message in Terminal: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ Link to comment

Cellicello
I did it twice. Vero
@Cellicello Glad to hear you're now able to find files on your local drive External drives can be different. I would recommend creating a File Filter workflow to specifically find files on the external drive. This means that the external drive's content won't be included in default results and won't slow down showing local results being returned by macOS. Here's how you can create a File Filter, but change the location to your external drive and (optionally) set which file types you want to search for: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/#workflow Link to comment
Cellicello
Hello Vero, Thank you for your advice, but I didn't create a File Filter workflow. Instead, I went to Mac System Preferences / Siri Spotlight / Spotlight Privacy / add and remove the internal and external drives, and it worked! Thank you for your help 😃 Link to comment
