Free Accounts / Trial Accounts -- confusing

A techie friend (Apple employee) recommended Alfred and it looks very intriguing, but:

 

   1. It appears that you don't offer any kind of trial of the PowerPack features (e.g. expanding text snippets, I'm looking for a more affordable alternative to Text Expander) which I find surprising. If you don't offer trial "test before you buy", it would be nice to just make that clear on the website.

   2. I don't see any explanation of what features come with the free account vs. PowerPack

 

Also... your contact page <https://www.alfredapp.com/help/contact/> appears to be missing the email addresses to allow someone to contact you (see bolded parts below)... unless there's some anti-harvesting security feature hiding the addresses that is also keeping me from seeing them!!

 

Those first 2 things make me leery of making an immediate purchase... any suggestions?

In answer to your questions, we don't offer a Powerpack trial, but you can use the core version of Alfred for free for as long as you'd like with no strings attached.

The Clipboard History and Snippets Text Expansion are two great features that you can adopt instantly - You'll find more details about Snippets here:

As for the website, it looks like you must have JavaScript disabled; In order to keep our small team from being snowed under with spam, the email address is displayed using JavaScript.

Does Alfred have videos somewhere demoing (in particular) the text expanstion and no-script automation features? I may have missed that...

@ddoern Alfred's features are ever-evolving so videos would quickly refer to features that have already changed. You can see an animation of text expansion in the link I provided earlier, as well as screenshots of the configuration of snippets a little higher up the page under the Creating your own Snippets header.

 

Workflows as a whole are intended to work with as little manual scripting as possible; We've created entire workflows without a line of code, many of which you'll be able to discover on the official Gallery once you grab your Powerpack license
