telling Alfred where NOT to search

Recommended Posts

I've got Windows installed via Parallels installed on my machine, and the Windows versions of Microsoft office.

When I want to launch Outlook, Alfred's first suggestiong is the Windows version of Outlook. My fingers are faster than my eyes and brain, and I select the first (wrong) option EVERY TIME.

How do I tell Alfred not to look in /Users/<me>/Applications?

@willoneal There are a few ways to do this:

1. Tell Parallels not to include virtual apps on your Mac. This knowledge base from Parallels might give you a starting point:

2. Drag the folder of Parallels apps to Spotlight's Privacy tab to tell Spotlight not to include them in the index. You'll then need to type "reload" in Alfred to force Alfred's cache of apps to refresh.
