How does updating workflows from the Alfred Gallery that you've modified work?

If I tweak a workflow from the Alfred Gallery, and I then update it, are any tweaks I've made to it lost?

 

Also, is there a way to update workflows faster than one at a time?

Yes, unless you change the bundle ID of the relevant workflow on your Mac (which means, of course, you won't get Gallery updates for that workflow).
