iveney
This workflow is handy when you want to quickly find out the geography location of your current external IP address. For example, when you use VPN, tor or proxy, you want to make sure (or just curious) where your IP is. Usage: loc <ip-address> By default (without argument), it uses your own external IP address. Otherwise use the provided argument. Download: here. IMPORTANT: it uses the http://ipinfodb.com/ip_location_api.php for query. You may want to register your own API key, import the workflow and replace the string with your API key in the script. StDt 1 Link to comment
pgseye
Thanks for this. I'd find it quite handy, but I'm not getting it to work. If I type loc (while I'm connected to my VPN), it just says 'checking IP location' but doesn't return anything. Interestingly, if I disconnect my VPN, the workflow does return my correct country, but incorrect state and city location. Any ideas? Link to comment
iveney
pgseye, It is supposed to check your external IP. Make sure you can actually visit http://ipinfodb.com/ when you are connected to the VPN. The location is returned by the service, so either they have a wrong entry or your IP indeed belongs to another city (your IP address may not be your physical location, depending your ISP) Link to comment
pgseye
Thanks iveney, It now appears to be working - I don't know what was happening before. Great workflow - I'll use it a lot. Link to comment

Nice job .....But i usually use sites like Whoisxy.com to get details about particular ip address ..They do whois search for ip address and display details like ip owner name ,address, location and so on .....
